The benefits: iOS & Calculator updates
When we started MyFirmsApp in 2013, we had no idea how successful it would become. 500 clients from around the world have decided to build an App with us, which in turn reaches 120000 downloads. Here’s how MyFirmsApp benefits its clients so they can get the most from our App.
Since the 2016 budget has been recently unveiled and the 2016-2017 tax year is in full swing, MyFirmsApp has updated the Budget News, Tax Tables and Calculators sections to reflect these changes, and are currently live: Stamp Duty Tax has also been updated to reflect the +3% change. Other changes to tax tables for the 2016-2017 tax year include:
- Stamp Duty
- Capital Gains Tax
- Basic State Pension
- Universal Credit
- Charitable Giving
- Inheritance Tax
- Registered Pensions
- Enveloped Dwellings
These changes have since been implemented. The 2016/2017 tax year is already underway, and this means that we have updated the tax calculators and tables to reflect the changes to the new tax regulations in the latest budget.
Other Upgrades to the App:
One of our other upgrades removed the cap on the data you can input into the Payslip and Dividend vs Salary calculators, a frequently requested amendment to our calculators: every App equipped with these calculators will now process income over £100,000. Other requested improvements to the App include forecasting support for the Contractor, Should I Incorporate and Dividend vs Salary calculator.
Please remember to get in touch if you have any feedback or suggestions. The MyFirmsApp team are very excited about what lies ahead and from the discussions we’ve already had, I know our clients are too. We have more alterations, improvements and features than we’ve ever planned for the App platform. It’s all been carefully planned as a result of discussions with our clients worldwide, with thought leaders, software firms, HMRC and with you – our valued customers. While we’re still on the subject, I would like to thank the end users of these apps who offer feedback and suggestions – the forecasting and +£100,000 income support for the Stamp tax came straight from the community. The development team at MyFirmsApp work tirelessly to ensure that our App is the best in its field, and we want to give you, the client, the best service possible.
iOS 9.3: How MyFirmsApp responded
Also in the news, Apple has recently updated iOS to version 9.3. As a result, every App in the MFA, IFA and Legal catalogue has been updated to work with v9.3. As approved Apple developers, we had access to this update before it was released, giving us insight into how the update would affect our software and giving a valuable head start on development. This all meant that the upgrade to our Apps came out before the iOS update was actually released, preventing the errors that could have resulted from out-of-date information. This is the kind of forward planning and foresight you can come to expect from the MyFirmsApp development team.
